Ready Your Store (RYS) uses artificial intelligence as part of its Content Engine feature. We believe in being transparent about how AI is used, what it can do, and what its limitations are.
How We Use AI
The RYS Content Engine uses large language models from Anthropic and OpenAI to generate content suggestions for your store. These models are accessed via API and are used to help merchants optimise their product pages for Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).
What AI Does
The Content Engine generates suggestions for:
- Product descriptions
- FAQ blocks
- Schema markup (structured data)
- Meta descriptions
All AI-generated content is presented as a suggestion. Nothing is published to your store automatically.
What AI Does Not Do
- AI does not make purchasing decisions for your customers
- AI does not access your customer data (names, emails, orders, payment details)
- AI does not modify your store without your explicit approval
- AI does not operate autonomously -- every action requires merchant initiation
Merchant Control
You are always in control. Every AI-generated suggestion requires your review and approval before it is published to your store. You can:
- Review each suggestion before any changes are made
- Edit the suggested content to match your brand voice
- Reject any suggestion you are not satisfied with
- Accept suggestions individually -- there is no bulk auto-publish
Data Handling
When the Content Engine generates suggestions, your product data (titles, descriptions, tags, and other catalogue information) is sent to AI providers via their APIs.
- This data is not used to train AI models. We use API agreements with both Anthropic and OpenAI that explicitly prohibit training on input data.
- Product data is sent only for the purpose of generating content and is not retained by the AI providers beyond the API request lifecycle.
Accuracy and Limitations
AI-generated content is a suggestion, not a guarantee of accuracy. Please be aware:
- AI content may contain errors or inaccuracies. Language models can produce plausible-sounding text that is factually incorrect.
- Merchants are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with applicable laws -- including the Australian Consumer Law.
- AI suggestions should be treated as a starting point, not a finished product.
Evolving Technology
Generative Engine Optimisation is an emerging field. AI models are updated frequently, and best practices are still developing. We want to be honest about what this means:
- Our approach will evolve as the technology and the field mature
- We will update our techniques and models as improvements become available
- We are transparent about what we know and what we do not yet know
- We will communicate significant changes to our AI approach through release notes and email updates
Feedback
If you encounter AI-generated content that is inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate, we want to hear about it. Your feedback helps us improve the service for all merchants.
